Great Britain is surrounded by the North and Irish Seas of the Atlantic Ocean, the English Channel, the Pas-de-Calais, the North and the Straits of St. George. Its shores are strongly sliced by bays (fjords on the left, estuaries on the south). The largest peninsulas are Wales and Cornwall. The terrain is low in the south and southeast, with the Cambrian Mountains on the Wales Peninsula in the west (highest point - Snowdon, 1085 m), Pennin in the north of England (highest point - Crossfell, 893 m) and Cumberland (highest point - Scofell, 978 m).
