Britain which is formally known as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the political unity of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is located on the British Isles Its total area is about 244 thousand square kilometres. The coasts of the UK are washed by seas of 2 oceans: the Arctic and the Atlantic. The scenery is the coastline is rather picturesque. The capital of the UK is London. The official language is English. The national symbols of the UK are the Red rose and the Lion, the flag 'Union Jack', and the anthem 'God Save the Queen'. Its form of government is a constitutional monarchy. Officially the supreme legislative authority is the Queen in Parliament and the two Houses of Parliament .and the elected House of Commons. But The Queen officially opens each Parliamentary session. The three major parties are the conservative party, the new labour party, and the democratic liberal party. The largest cities are Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, Belfast and Cardiff. The chief river is the Thames River Britain's major industries include iron and steel engineering, shipbuilding, electronics.

Я вивчаю англійську мову в школі. Також я відвідую курси англійської мови у Москві (курсы английского языка в москве). Крім того, я читаю англійські книги, журнали і газети. Я дивлюся відеофільми і слухаю пісні англійською мовою. У мене є плеєр, тому я часто слухаю пісні чи навчальні касети під час прогулянок чи у метро. Нові слова я записую на маленькі картки і переглядаю їх щовечора перед сном. Сподіваюся, що коли-небудь я буду вільно говорити англійською мовою.
My favourite subject is English. English is very important as it has become the most used language in politics, science, trade and cultural relations in the world. It is also the language of great literature. Such writers as William Shakespeare, Walter Scott, Charles Dickens and Bernard Shaw wrote in English. It gives me great pleasure to read their books in the original. I learn English at school. I also attend English courses in Moscow. I also read English books, magazines and newspapers. I watch video films and listen to songs in English. I have a Walkman, so I often listen to songs or teaching cassettes when walking or in the underground. I write new words on little cards and look them through every evening before going to sleep. I hope that in the future I’ll speak English fluently!
