США - страна рек и озёр.  Северный штат Миннесота - земля 10000 озёр.  Самые длинные реки в США - Миссисипи, Миссури и Рио Гранд. Самые высокие горы - Скалистые горы, Кордильеры Сьерра Невада.  США богата природными и минеральными ресурсами.  Она производит (добывает) медь, нефть, железную руду и уголь.  Это высокоразвитая промышленная и сельскохозяйственная страна. В США много  больших городов, таких, как Нью Йорк, Чикаго, Лос- Анджелес, Филадельфия и другие. Столица страны город Вашингтон, Ди.Си. (Колумбийский округ)   Её население около 3,4 млн. жителей.
Вашингтон был построен в конце 18 века, как центр правительства страны. Его назвали в честь Джорджа Вашингтона. США стала мировой ведущей державой в начале 20 века.
