It is interesting and ___USEFUL. Language skills help people to travel, study, and establish ___PROFESSIONAL links with colleagues from other countries. Some people say that learning languages is easy but others strongly ___DISAGREE. They say that learning languages takes a lot of time and they are not happy with their progress anyway. Meanwhile, there are some strategies that can make you a successful language LEARNER and save your time. The first idea is watching films in the original. If the films are INTERESTING, learning is just fun, not hard work. Online and live ___COMMUNICATING with people in the language you are learning also helps a lot. I’m not a child but I still like cartoons and animated films. ___RECENTLY, I enrolled in an animation course in our university. The TEACHER of the course explained to us how animated films are made. Basically, animation is just a series of pictures with a character. Each picture is a little DIFFERENT. When you show the pictures really fast, it looks like they are moving. Some people say animation is not a serious thing. I strongly ___DISAGREE. Animated films may be ___FUNNY but clever and useful to learn new skills. I believe they can be used in many spheres, and most importantly of all in ___EDUCATION. Not everyone likes street art. USUALLY__ nobody asks owners’ permission before drawing graffiti on their houses. Sometimes the drawings may be ___INTERESTING and nice but sometimes messy and ugly. What is graffiti – a form of art or vandalism? It depends on the drawing, I think. A friend of mine, John, is a street __ARTIST. He says that street art is a form of __COMMUNICATION__. A person can tell you nice or rude things, can’t he? As for John, he is a really nice and ___CREATIVE person. He enjoys drawing _VARIOUS___ characters from animated films. When my neighbours saw his drawings, they asked him to paint some pictures on the wall of their house. Just to make it look brighter and more positive. What is the most eco-friendly transport? I believe it’s the bicycle. There are a lot of bicycles on the streets of our town and that is probably why it looks so green and BEAUTIFUL_. There are cycle lanes all over the town so using your bike to get to school or to the office is safe and convenient. ___UNFORTUNATELY, some people still prefer driving cars even for short distances. They make the environment less HEALTHY___. As for me, I enjoy riding my bike very much and all my friends say that I’m a good RIDER__. Next month I’m going to take part in a regional cycling COMPETITION__ and I hope to win it. I don't think I will stop riding my bicycle till I’m REALLY___ old. Koalas are cute animals. UNFORTUNATELY___, it causes them lots of problems. There are people who want to keep the cute exotic animal as a pet which may put the koala in a really DANGEROUS___ situation. The problem is that the koala’s diet is very specific. To stay ___HEALTHY_ they should only eat eucalyptus leaves. The leaves need to be young and fresh, which means a person who keeps a koala should also have a lot of eucalyptus trees. Andrew Page, a ___SCIENTIST__ who has been studying koalas for years, says that it’s a bad idea to keep this animal as a pet. According to him, people who try to do it usually have very little INFORMATION__ about koala’s lifestyle. And their ignorance can often cost the ___BEAUTIFUL__ animal its life.
I will never forget this year’s holidays. At first I thought these holidays would be very boring, because I was going at the seaside with my family. I fought I would be looking forward to come back to school, but I was wrong. I can say my holidays were one of the best in my life.
The beginning was quite boring, but on the 15th of July I went with my parents and my family by the sea. We spent 3 weeks there! We lived at nice, but quite expensive hotel, I think. Our accomodation was in a really good condition. There were two rooms, huge bathroom, terrace with jacuzzi and a swimming-pool in the front of the builing. The hotel was near the sea, it was really comfortable. Sometimes we were going back from the beach late at night, quite tired and hungry. During those three weeks I met a lot of interesting and kind people. In fact, I spent with them most of the time. They have become my friends. We were building sandcastles, we were swimming, we visited many interesting places and we were sunbathing. We were also doing many wild things, it was unforgettable. The weather was great- every morning I was waking up to a deep blue sky and blazing sun. Only one day it was raining, but the rain was quite warm.
I enjoyed my holidays. It was great for my health. I was lying on a beach and relaxing... All tensions disappeared. This year’s holidays were worth remembering.
