Last week I had a funny experience. I was on my own in the house because my husband went away on a business trip. The first evening I felt rather tired as I had spent the day shopping and cleaning. After supper I was watching television for a while and then decided to go to bed early. I just went to lie down when I heard the sounds of men's voices, talking quietly. I was terrified. I got out of bed, and was creeping downstairs. The voices came from the sitting-room. I was trembling all over. I slightly opened the door and then laughed with relief.
