"Torment Omairy" November 13, 1985. Eruption of the volcano Nevado del Ruiz(Colombia). Mountain snow melts, and the mass of mud, earth and water of 50 feet literallyrazed everything in its path. The death toll has exceeded 23,000 people. The disasterreceived tremendous response from all over the world, thanks in part to photograph a little girl named Omaira Sanchaz. She was trapped - in the neck thinner, her legs were trappedin the concrete construction of the house. Rescue workers tried to pump out the mud and the release of the child, but in vain. The girl was kept for three days, then infected by severalviruses. As a journalist, says Christina Echandia, is located near all the time, Omaira sang and talked with others.
