Как празднуют Новый год. В Украине до 20 века празднование Нового года несло в себе черты языческих и христианских обычаев одновременно. Праздник длился 12 дней и считался временем пробуждения духов, нечистой силы и зла. Считалось, что за столом присутствуют души умерших, и их необходимо было задобрить. Также существовало поверье, что на Новый год открывались небеса, а потому можно загадывать любые желания. Тот, кто гадал, получал самые верные сведения о будущем, которые обязательно сбывались. В празднике было три главных даты: 25 декабря – Рождество, 1 января – смена года, 6 января – Крещение. Однако из-за бесконечных споров христианских конфессий, в даты вкралась путаница. Это не мешало получать радость от праздничных дней, желать друг другу добра и благополучия.
