Beth: Yes, I wasn't at home. At that time I left for the cinema. I saw a very interesting film. I  returned home by ten o'clock

John: I tied again on Wednesday at about ten o'clock in the evening but nobody answered.

Beth: I went to bed by that time. I slept when you phoned me.

John: I phoned you on Thursday and on Friday. And I phoned you today in the morning. Do you avoid me?

Beth: Don't think so. I don't try to avoid you. I was at the library this morning. I was working there since eight o'clock. I just have come home.
