На то, что предложение в этом времени, указывают слова такие, как: вчера, на неделе, год (час, минута, секунда и т. д.) назад, в месяце и т. д.: yesterday, on the last week, a year (hour, minute, second itc) ago, in the last month itc.
В Past Simple в утвердительных предложениях такая конструкция: подлежащее, сказуемое (глагол с окончанием -ed/2 форма глагола) и второстепенные члены предложения. В отрицании перед глаголом ставим вс глагол - did с отрицательной частицей not - did not/didn't, а смысловой глагол используется в начальной форме (инфинитив). В вопросе вс глагол did ставится перед подлежащим, в начале предложения, смысловой глагол также используется в инфинитиве. Если в вопросительном предложении есть такие слова, как "что", "кто", "где", "когда" и т. д. (What, who, where, when itc), то в самом начале предложения ставятся они, а затем вс глагол и подлежащее.
