Ilike to go to the cinema. when i have free time i always go to see some new films. there is a cinema not far from my house and i often go there with my friends. i prefer feature films and amusing comedies. it’s a pity the life is so difficult nowadays, but nevertheless people want to relax a little and to laugh. as for me i am fond of true-to-life films describing the life of ordinary people, their feelings and problems. as a rule such films leave a deep impression upon me. my favourite film which i have seen lately was titanic. it is a foreign film that was produced by a famous director james cameron. this film tells us about the real tragedy on the british passenger liner titanic. it was supposed to be unsinkable but struck an iceberg and sank off newfoundland on its first voyage in 1912. there were many victims — 1,513 lives were lost. while watching the film i was mostly impressed by the playing of actors. a young actor leo dicaprio and a beautiful actress kate winslet played the leading parts. this film achieved a world wide fame. it won 11 oscars in 1998, the highest annual motion picture awards of the academy of motion picture arts of the usa for the best picture, best director, best actors, best cinematography, best screenplay and best music. this film was very popular with cinema goers and i liked it a lot.
Daniel: for me the number one holiday because we have a party. Stuart raises flag. Dad cooks food: hot dogs and hamburgers, my mom makes the cake. This evening Stuart and I light fireworks. But Melanie doesn't light the fireworks. It is small. Paul: I like this holiday best of all because it's spring. All green in the country-side. It is really beautiful. Mom is preparing a tradition-al food. I'm helping her to color eggs. Our parents give us chocolate bunnies*. Claire: this holiday is my first choice because we get gifts. Mom always makes a Christmas pudding, it is very tasty. Dad decorates the house and Christmas tree. Jay and I hand greeting cards on a wall and hang stockings on our bed.
Yesterday my Mum, Dad and I went to Covent Garden. While my parents were shopping, I was watching street actors' Performance. The performance was great! The pantomime actors and the jugglers were entertaining the people around for two hours. While one man in a bright cap was playing the violin,the juggler was juggling six big balls and the pantomime actor was standing like a statue. The people were laughing while the clowns were doing silly things. When my parents arrived, one of the actors was showing tricks. We left the performance while the people around were singing together with the street actors.
