Слепыш - Распространен в лесополевых и степных ландшафтах от западных областей. Наибольшей плотности поселения его, находятся на целинных участках и примыкающих к ним посевах многолетних трав (до 20 зверьков на 1 га); на посевах зерновых культур встречается не более 1—3 слепышей на 1 га, и то лишь поблизости от балок, лесополос и опушек лесных массивов. Крот- Ареал обычного, или европейского, крота — обширные пространства лесов, полей, лугов и лесостепей от Испании на западе до Западной Сибири (а возможно, и дальше) на востоке, от берегов Белого моря до степей Украины, Нижнего Поволжья и Казахстана (где его уже нет). Кроме того, в СНГ обитают еще пять видов кротов. У четырех из них глаза закрыты кожей и снаружи не видны. Дальневосточный крот, могера, охристо-серый, все другие черные или черно-бурые (молодые сероватые), но попадаются, очень редко, желтые и белые.
