А.С. Пушкину в 1830 году пришлось отправиться в Болдино. Там ему предстояло решить имущественные вопросы, связанные с наследством и подготовиться к свадьбе. Поэт хотел быстро уладить свои дела и вернуться в Москву, но ему пришлось задержаться из-за вспышки холеры. Находясь в Болдино, он написал несколько философских произведений, в том числе и стихотворение «Бесы».
Читая это произведение, становится страшно и даже жутко. Пушкину удалось с художественный приемов создать такую мрачную картину, что дух захватывает. Вначале ямщик и лирический герой заблудились, ни о каких бесах и речи не было. Однако Пушкин использовал повторы и звукоподражания («страшно, страшно», «еду, еду», «дин-дин-дин»), чтобы создать напряженную атмосферу. Сразу становится как-то страшно, тем более, что ямщик начинает говорить о бесах, якобы заманивших в ловушку. Невольно начинаешь ждать чего-то нехорошего.
Стихия разгулялась не на шутку и лирическому герою действительно страшно. Но вот появляются бесы, которые кружатся в своем сумасшедшем танце. Что делать человеку, находящемуся далеко от деревни? Откуда ждать и что будут делать те самые бесы, заманившие в ловушку? Метафоры еще больше нагнетают обстановку: «вьюга злится», «колокольчик умолк», «вьюга визгом надрывает сердце» и др. Эта страшная картина прямо предстает перед глазами, становится жутко.
Стихотворение «Бесы» написано октавой. При написании использовалась традиционная перекрестная рифмовка. Это стихотворение является образом мечущейся души, человека, сбившегося с пути. Скорее всего, Пушкин имел в виду крестьян, которые до сих пор были крепостными. Их души рвались на свободу, но они были терзаемы переживаниями и трагическими страстями.
