Prior to the formation of such a region like Northern Ireland in 1922, on the territory of the County was operating a system of national schools, extending to the entire territory of Ireland. Such a system, as surely the most rational for the whole society, in fact, had tangible problems, representatives of the main religions, that is, Catholics and Protestants, prevented its implementation, that subsequently led to the fact that most of Ireland became dominant segregated schools based on religion. After the Division of the island were made significant attempts to resolve an existing system to provide joint training between Protestant and Catholic Christians, but constant tension and confrontation among the population led to even greater influence on the education of the clergy, which only cemented and approved separation in the educational process. And even the instrument of Government of 1947, the hugely successful curricula and funding system has not made substantial changes in the situation
