Winchester College is an integral part of British educational history. Winchester College Private School for boys is one of the oldest in the country and is considered one of the most beautiful. The educational institution has been teaching boys for over 620 years. The school operates as a full board. There are 4 such educational institutions in Great Britain.
The school was founded by the Royal Chancellor, Bishop of Winchester, Wilhelm Wyckham. In the 16th century, the structure of the educational institution was approved. It included a leader, a college council (10), teachers, chaplains, singers, and fellowship students (70 youths). The structure is preserved today. But in addition to 70 students studying for free (at the expense of scholarships), more than 600 boys receive education at the college for a fee.
