it is occasioned by the situation that all people are more or less ethnocentric. this is in our nature to consider that all objects, facts and concepts which are correlated to us are more correct and prominent. all that believes cause stereotypes and moreover prejudice. europeans suppose that chineseare all look alike, while chinese people think the same when they come in russia, for example. there are lots of stereotypes about russians themselves, they are shown like confirmed drunkards, hooligans and couch potatoes. in fact many surveys reflect that we are not the most drinking country. jews are greedy, afro-americans are dump, germans are nazi and other prejudices in our minds will have enormous negative effect in the process of possible intercultural communication.
the process of building stereotypes and prejudices is clear enough. in accordance with some historical events, mass media, folklore and the opinions of surrounding people we hang up the label on one or another nation. thus we think about whole nation like one organism which behaves in one and the same way. to see the fallaciousness of that phenomenon is easy, you should turn around and assess people of your own nationality, and realize that they are all different, they react, feel, think and do everything in various ways. it demonstrates that stereotypes and prejudices are at most common, strained and frequently misrepresented.
thus, people should strive to break all prejudices in their own minds that may be finally leads to world peace and amicable coexistence of all nations on the earth.

это вызвано тем, что все люди в той или иной степени этноцентричны. нам от природы свойственно полагать, что наши понятия, факты и концепты являются наиболее правильными и важными. подобные мнения и являются предпосылкой стереотипов и предрассудком. европейцы полагают, что все китайцы на одно лицо, в то время как китайцы думают то же самое по отношению, например, к . и о самих существует множество стереотипов, их представляют горькими пьяницами, хулиганами и лентяями. хотя в реальности многие исследования доказывают, что мы не самая пьющая страна. евреи – жадные, афро-американцы – глупые, немцы – нацисты, такие стереотипы оказывают огромный негативный эффект в процессе возможного межкультурного общения.
сам процесс создания стереотипов и предрассудков весьма прост. мы навешиваем ярлыки на ту или иную нацию исходя из каких-то событий, информации из источников массовой информации, фольклора или мнений окружающих вас людей. таким образом, мы думаем о целой нации как об одном целом организме, который ведет себя одним и тем же образом. понять, что это явление является заблуждением легко, нужно лишь обернуться и оценить людей своей собственной национальности и понять, что все они разные, что все они реагируют, думают, чувствуют по-разному. это показывает, что стереотипы и предрассудки отражают реальность обще, натянуто и зачастую искаженно.
таким образом, люди должны стараться сломить все предрассудки в своем собственном сознании, что, может быть, в конечном счете, к миру и дружелюбию во всем мире.
