Kells Abbey
Kells Abbey is one of the most famous abbeys in Ireland. It is included in the list of must-see places for those who are looking for something to see in Ireland, due to the good preservation of all its buildings. A large number of religious buildings were built on the territory of the country in different centuries, but a significant part of them has not reached our days and was destroyed during the Viking raids. This fate has passed the Abbey of Kells, and its ancient walls have been preserved almost in the same form as they were seen by the distant ancestors of modern Irish.
It was in this abbey that the Book of Kells was created. This ancient literary work is now kept in Trinity College, Dublin.
