Putevoy Palace in Tver was built in 1763-1777 year, its construction was attended by such famous architects as M. F. Kazakov and P. R. Nikitin. The Palace is made in the Baroque style and was originally intended for the rest of the Royal family and retinue on the way from St. Petersburg to Moscow (hence the name). The Palace was built on the site of the Bishop's house burned down in 1763, on the territory of the Tver Kremlin. The travel Palace is one of the most beautiful monuments of Russian architecture. The layout of the Palace is a "chamber": the Central building, where the front two-color hall West and East wing two cruciform in terms of the pavilion-the Church of the great Martyr Catherine and the iconostasis of the work of V. L. Borovikov. Unfortunately, the two-storeyed service wing consisting of one-storeyed wings and the Central part, and magnificent stables and a carriage shed didn't remain to our time. Today, the Palace houses the state United historical, architectural and literary Museum and the Tver regional art gallery.
