At last the winter holidays came! I was very happy! I hadn't to get up early in the morning and run to school. I could stay in the bed till midday. But I didn't want to sleep. There were a lot of things to do.
The weather was fine so my freinds and I went to the skating- rink almost every day. It was fun!
Then I spent a week in the country where my grandfather and grandmother lived. It was great. I drank milk and eat a lot of tasty food which my granny prepared for me.
I have many friends in this village because I go there every holidays.
We went to the forest to ski, we made snowmen and played snowballs. We even play hockey!
But the winter holidays were over and I returned to the city again. I liked my holidays very much.
Наконец наступили зимние каникулы! Я был очень счастлив! Я не должен был вставать рано утром и бежать в школу. Я мог оставаться в постели до полудня. Но я не хотел спать. Было так много дел.
Погода была хорошая, так что мои друзья и я ходили на каток почти каждый день. Это было весело!
Затем я провел неделю в деревне, где живут мои дедушка и бабушка . Это было здорово. Я пил молоко и ел много вкусной пищи, которую моя бабушка готовила для меня.
У меня много друзей в этой деревне, потому что я езжу туда каждые каникулы.
Мы ходили в лес кататься на лыжах, мы делали снеговиков и играли в снежки. Мы даже играли в хоккей!
Но зимние каникулы закончились, и я вернулся в город снова. Мне очень понравились мои каникулы.
Winter - wonderful time not only for a vacation which turn in two weeks of magic holidays. In fact for this time it is possible not only to have a rest from lessons, to sleep in plenty, to see enough transfers on the TV, to play enough in computer games, and also to chat by phone with the girl-friend and to esteem favourite books. Winter are the trees covered by a snow and roofs of houses, these are the frozen ponds which have turned skating rinks, these are icicles hanging down from roofs, snow hills and snowballs. And still it is New Year, Christmas, elegant fur-trees, gifts and fancy dresses, he/she is the Grandfather the Frost and the Snow Maiden still more many-many any fantastic characters! And when will bother to celebrate or simply to sit at home - run on street! And there... Throw to itself on health snowballs, skate or on санках, and it is possible on skis, yes from a hill! Набегаешься so, напрыгаешься - and at all you do not feel a cold! And sometimes so will fall asleep you a snow, or children so will throw snowballs that you become similar to the Snow Maiden. Or on a snowman. And then it seems, that all snowballs in district - your friends. Or even relatives. Here therefore children also like to walk in the winter. In fact a winter vacation fly by very quickly!

I like New Year's Day, it is my favourite holiday. The 1st of January is a winter holiday and now it is the first day of the New Year.
Peter the First changed the Russian calendar in 1699. He made the 31st of December, 1699 the last day of the year. The first of January 1700 became New Year's Day.
The 1st of January is in the middle of winter. The weather is usually fine and there is a lot of snow everywhere. As the 1st of January is a holiday I don't go to school and my parents don't go to work.
We usually have got a very interesting New Year's party at school. We have got it on the 28th or 29th of December.
Our family prepares for this holiday beforehand. My father buys and brings home a beautiful New Year's tree at the end of December. Our family has a tradition to buy it. I like to decorate the New Year's tree with toys, little coloured lights, sweets and a beautiful star on the top.
My mother and grandmother prepare our holiday supper and lay the table. I make a cake.
All the members of our family clean the flat before this nice holiday and then each of us try to dress well. We like to see the New Year in at home with our relatives. They come to see us at 11 o'clock in the evening.
At 12 o'clock we are sitting at the table and we are glad to see the New Year in. We say, "Best wishes for the New Year!"
I hope that next year will be better than the last one.
The New Year's Day is always connected with our new hopes and dreams.
It is a pleasant moment to get presents on the New Year's Eve.
I usually get many nice useful things from my parents and relatives.
