Of course, it is convenient to have a single language for communication, which would be owned by the majority of the world's population. At different times, these languages were French, German and Latin. Now it is English, so from the first class, and even before we begin to repeat the importance of knowing all the nuances of the language and strive to start teaching it as quickly as possible.
Why is it English? We can not say that the reason for its simplicity and intuitiveness – Italian or French in some places in this sense is much easier. Rather, the reason is that you want-you do not want, and the main tone in many areas of activity is now set by America. This trend can be traced back to the eighteenth century, at a time when the active process of anglicization in the British colonies began.
