Игры были возрождены в 1896 году для поддержки/жания взаимопонимания и дружбы между народами. Первые современные игры проводились в Афинах, Греция. Молодые мужчины и женщины приезжают со всего мира, чтобы соревноваться/состязаться в различных видах спорта и представлять свою страну. Они живут в Олимпийской Деревне на территории где проводятся игры/на территории игр. Олимпийские игры организуются и регулируются Международным олимпийским комитетом (МОК). Он задает/устанавливает/определяет программу игр, выбирает город, где игры будут проводиться, и определяет стандарты игр. В каждой стране есть Национальный олимпийский комитет.
