AT YOUR SERVICE, SIR! Choose=> a, some, any or -. When alternatives are possible, then give both options.

(1) …..robots are common in industry and perhaps they will soon be common in the home. (2) …….robot working in the home must be able to behave like (3) …….human. You could ask it to make breakfast for you. ‘I’d like (4) …….pot of coffee, please and (5) …….boiled eggs.’ ‘How many, sir?’ ‘Two please.’ You wouldn’t have to worry about bringing friends home to dinner. ‘I’ve brought (6) …….friends for dinner,’ you would say, ‘please prepare (7) …….meal for six.’ Your robot would be (8) …….cook, (9) …….servant and (10) …….cleaner, and perhaps it could even do the shopping. ‘We haven’t got (11) …….tomatoes,’ you would say. ‘Be (12) …….good robot and get some from the supermarket.’ (13) …….robots would never need to sleep, and would never complain. But I wouldn’t want them wandering round the house at night!

ответ:

1. the subject of the conversation is a job interview.

2. “hello, i’m calling in regard to the ad you placed in the new york times. are you still hiring? ”

3. one is an hr manager at a restaurant, the other potential employee. i believe they are related in this way, firstly because of the manager specifying the jobs responsibilities, and secondly because of the potential employees question about the amount of work nights.

4. i believe its a phone conversation. with the hr manager being at work, because work related calls are taken during working hours.

5. during the restaurants working hours, reason explained above.

6. the first interlocutor seems tired, he is acting in a condescending way- first explaining what the job entails and then, as if it wasn’t clear, specifying what it does not. the second one seems to feel slightly nervous, surprised to hear the responsibilities, but kind of shrugging it off.

7. “all right, please come in at 11 am tomorrow for training, looking forward to a productive time. goodbye! ”

“thank you! can’t wait to join your work family, see you tomorrow! ”

объяснение:

assuming it actually says waiting a table, and not at table.
