English is an international means of communication. Many people learn English for work or for travelling. About 20% of the world's population speak English. It can help you to understand people if you are abroad. You can also read books or watch filmes in original. I study English because it is necessary for career growth and my future development. English is very interesting, but it’s difficult for me yet. I hope I will know this language well in the future. Certainly, the language that unites the peoples of the world is important for society. But we shouldn’t forget the consequences’ scale of the mass adoption of a foreign language. For example, studying French was widely spread in the beginning of the 19th century (eventually - The War of 1812). In the 20th century German caused two world wars (both mainly provoked by Germany). Now it is the 21st century, the century of progress and technologies. The English language is spreading around the world, so can’t we avoid the war with the USA and Great Britain or maybe with the EU? Probably we have to just remember that fanaticism and widescale oblivion have already showed us 3 centuries of people’s madness. I admit that I am not an opponent of linguistics and foreign languages. After tracing the logic chain, I just believe it is worth considering about the upcoming world language domination and countries speaking it.
Our planet is full of all sorts of unique, exotic, beautiful, clever and even deadly animals. Unfortunately, some of them are endangered because of people. For example, In South Africa many exotic animals are being hunted for trophies by rich people. Chimpanzees and dolphins are very intelligent, they are believed to be almost as clever as people but some of them are also endangered or close to extinction because of hunters and accidental kills when fishing for tuna. Contrary to popular belief, sharks aren't dangerous animals, occasional attacks on humans happen by accident because sharks have bad vision. Sadly, there are more sharks being killed by humans than humans by sharks. Every year, humans kill an estimated 100 million sharks just to cut off their fins and let them back out into the ocean where they will eventually die in agony. And the list goes on and on, not to mention the thousands of species like dodo, sea mink, Tasmanian tiger and many more that are already extinct because of human activity. If we don't stop hunting wild animals, destroying their natural habitat, polluting the sea and air, soon humans will be the only animals to live on this planet!
