My favorite holiday is New Year. this holiday is wonderful and beautiful. I like New Year very much because after I have many present and many happyness. Every year many people in different countries make some present for their family. When their family find some present under the cristmas tree, they are happy too. I also like to find a present under the cristmas tree. Because I think that it is present santa makes for me. And its present I wish. And I want its present very much. I also like the weather in winter, ir is cold but wonderful and baeutiful. The snow is white. The sky is blue. I like to walk outside with my friend. And the air is fresh. That's why i love winter and my favorite holiday is New Year.
Dmitri Mendeleev is a great Russian scientist of the 19th century. He IS RECOGNIZED as a great chemist who CREATED the periodic classification of the elements Dmitri Mendeleev was born in Tobolsk in 1834.At school,Dmitri SUCCEEDED in mathematics,physics,and geography but was not good at languages.In 1855 he graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in St Petersburg with a gold medal for his ACHIEVEMENTS. In 1856 , he RECEIVED A DEGREE in chemistry. Dmitri Mendeleev's contribution to the world's science was ENORMOUS. He was the first who discovered the dependence of the qualities of the elements on their atomic weight.He forecast that the gaps in the table of elements would be filled in by elements which HADN'T BEEN DISCOVERED yet.Dmitri Mendeleev was greatly honoured as a MEMBER of academies in many countries.Element No 101 IS NAMED AFTER him. It is called Mendelevium.
